What to fix first, and why

Raptor Rooter & Plumbing has strong review volume and a solid rating, but the site is absent from Spokane's map and web results across every plumbing search we track. The core reason: the site carries no LocalBusiness structured data, so Google can't confirm the hours, services, or service area in a machine-readable way — and leans on the listings that do provide it. A slow mobile load compounds this, pushing visitors out before the page fully appears. The first fix is to add a LocalBusiness schema entity with full name, address, phone, hours, and service area directly in the site's code.

What to Fix, in Order

Most costly first. Every fix is written out in full.

Fix first2

  1. The site's structured data doesn't describe a local business.

The fix: Add a LocalBusiness or category-specific subtype (Restaurant, Dentist, etc.) entity with full NAP.

Why it matters · for your developer

LocalBusiness structured data spells out the hours, services and service area for Google. Without it, Google leans on the listings that do.

Business info for Google. No LocalBusiness schema: JSON-LD is present but no LocalBusiness (or subtype) entity is declared. Local pack ranking relies on this.

  2. The site is slow on a phone.

The fix: Compress images, defer non-critical JS, and serve from a CDN. Focus on Largest Contentful Paint.

Why it matters · for your developer

Most local searches happen on phones. A slow load loses visitors before the page appears.

Speed & Google checklist. Slow mobile performance: Mobile performance score is 41/100. Google uses mobile speed as a ranking factor.

Next2

  1. 16 of 19 images on the homepage have no text description.

The fix: Audit content images and add descriptive alt text. Use empty alt='' only for decorative images.

Why it matters · for your developer

Alt text tells Google and screen readers what an image shows. Without it, those images add little in image search.

Page basics. 16 of 19 images missing alt text: Image alt coverage is below 70%.

Show the other 1 fix

Nextcontinued

  1. The homepage has more than one main heading.

The fix: Keep only one H1; convert the rest to H2/H3 as appropriate.

Why it matters · for your developer

Several H1s blur the page's topic. One clear heading tells Google what to rank the page for.

Page basics. Multiple H1 tags (4): Multiple H1s dilute heading hierarchy and confuse crawlers.
